What would you expect from a pair of college guys? That's right. The night before our nine-day road trip and we've *started* packing.
Not to fear, though. Just because we haven't packed doesn't mean we're unprepared. In fact, thanks to the kindness of our dear friends, we're leaving with a loaf of Sharon's famous and o-so-tasty sourdough bread, a handful of addresses from friends who have offered their homes to us, and (most importantly) the encouragement and prayers of fellow believers. For these we are most thankful.
We stopped by the dollar store this afternoon and managed to procure a plethora of Bibles (18 when all was said and done). The lady at the register acted like it was an everyday purchase and said nothing but "Mehh. $19.62." This may very well be the response we get from a lot of people as we venture from coffeehouse to coffeehouse, but we are leaving with high spirits nonetheless.
"I seem to remember that every time Jesus sends his disciples fishing, he always provides the fish." Thus said a good friend of mine just yesterday, and an encouraging thought it is.
First stop: Chattanooga.
